Architect, sculptor, painter — a practice between construction, form and colour.
It begins with the form. Out of wood, stone or modelling material a figure grows, is dried, sanded and reworked until it stands. Only then comes the colour — sparing or strong, but always in service of the form.
The painting carries the same attitude: representational yet entirely its own, with a delight in figure, colour and story. For Wolle ut Hellert, sculpture and picture belong together — two ways of telling the same world.
